Welcome to day nine of
March SWEET Madness—a month long party to celebrate the upcoming release of my
novel, SWEET
MADNESS, available April 2, 2013.
One of the best things
about this event, at least for me, is hosting favorite authors who also happen
to be friends! Michelle Marcos certainly fits that bill for me! We met at my
very first Romance Writers of America® conference, just before her first book
came out. She was an inspiration to me then and she still is now! Plus, she’s
fun to explore Harry Potter world with.
While all of Michelle’s books are divine, I chose to feature Lessons in Loving a Laird—and not just because I like saying the word Laird. Try it. Laird. Awesome! This book was also a RT Book Reviews Top Pick, and I think you’ll love it.
Here is what the book
is about:
As rugged and bold as the Scottish hills, the Highland Knaves take no prisoners when it comes to love…
A DEFIANT APPRENTICE
Thrust into indentured servitude as a child, Shona Slayter is counting the days until her twenty-first birthday, when she gains her precious freedom. Unfortunately, the new laird of the estate has other plans—and he’s determined to keep her bound to him. The only way for Shona to be free of her bonds is to marry the man who holds the key. But seducing a handsome laird is not what she was trained for, and the more she tries to win his heart, the more she loses hers.
A HARD MASTER
With a young son to raise and a crumbling Scottish estate to manage, Conall has enough to worry about without the brazen, beautiful Shona challenging him at every turn. But their heated spats are starting to turn into real sparks…and soon the Scottish hills are ablaze with their forbidden attraction. Yet no matter what Shona is willing to do to buy her freedom, Conall has no intention of letting her go…

Sweet Enemy
Beakers and ball gowns don't mix, so when lady
chemist, Miss Liliana Claremont, goes undercover as a husband-hunter to
investigate Lord Geoffrey Wentworth, the earl whose family she suspects
murdered her father, romance isn't part of her formula. But it only takes one
kiss to start a reaction she can't control...

Sweet Deception
Lady criminologist, Miss Emma Wallingford, unknowingly finds herself tangled up in the dangerous final mission of Lord Derick Aveline, a spy who also happens to be her long-lost first love. But when deception, however sweet, is the name of the game, no one can be trusted. And every love--and every life--is at risk.

And don’t forget SWEET MADNESS,
coming April 2, 2013!
There’s a fine line between love and insanity…
Ever since her husband’s sudden and tragic
death, Lady Penelope Bridgeman has committed herself to studying the maladies
of the mind, particularly treating traumatized soldiers of the Napoleonic Wars.
It is this expertise that brings the Marquess of Bromwich’s family to her door.
Gabriel Devereaux’s unexpected and
unpredictable episodes are unlike any Penelope has studied. The once proud
soldier has been left shaken and withdrawn, but she manages to build a fragile
trust between them. Strangely, Gabriel seems completely lucid when not in the
grips of his mania, and in the calm between bouts, she is surprised by how much
she is drawn to him.
Despite his own growing feelings, Gabriel knows
that he is fit for no one, and is determined to keep Penelope away from his
descent into madness. But even though she knows firsthand the folly of loving a
broken man, Penelope cannot stop herself from trying to save him, no matter the
cost.

Oooh I saw one of David Tennant once that was very yummy. And possibly Ewan McGregor? I know he's Scottish so there's probably a pic out there somewhere.
ReplyDeleteEwan McGregor is definitely a real cute in a kilt.
ReplyDeleteI love men in a kilt. I love Scottish romances because they often have a gorgeous Highlander on the book cover and a wonderful adventure.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite man in a kilt, for me,
is Sean Connery.

ReplyDeleteYeah, it is too bad comments don't include pics! But a modern-day man in a kilt: I'd have to say Gerard Butler and Liam Nieson. jdh2690@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteGuys in kilts? Definitely yes! I'm a Highland romance addict! Glad to "meet" you in this interview, Michelle! jdh2690@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteMen in kilts? You betcha! Since his father has been known to wear a kilt, I'd like to see Prince William in a kilt. Bet he's got cute legs!

ReplyDeleteHi Heather!
ReplyDeleteAren't Michelle's books marvelous! Her books really do transport you back to the Highlands of Scotland and you won't want to return!
I'm so excited that Sweet Madness is being released the beginning of April! Since my husband's birthday is on the 4th I'd better read it fast or his birthday cake won't make it into the oven! If I remember correctly it's to be released on the 2nd so I'd better use a vacation day on the 3rd because otherwise I'll be up all night on Tuesday! Congratulations and I can't wait to read it!
I was so excited about finding out about both books I forgot to tell you I love men in kilts!
DeleteSince my ancestors came to the US from Scotland how could I not!
Jeanne, yes, Michelle is fab! And I'm so honored you are excited about Sweet Madness! Yes, the 2nd :) I do hope it's worth that vacation day!
DeleteThe book sounds amazing, and I loved the excerpt! Always happy to hear of a new, good, Scottish themed novel! My weakness...

ReplyDeleteThanks for everything!
Guys in kilts are a definite yes!!!
ReplyDeleteI remember a very nice picture of Gerard Butler in a kilt...
The leather kilt with the pink shirt? Yum...
DeleteI love men in kilts. Sean Connery is so hot as well as Gerrard Butler!
ReplyDeleteI adore men in kilts, so definitely a yes. I would choose Gerard Butler as my favorite modern man in a kilt, although I've seen Ewan Mcgregor and he looks pretty darned good as well.
ReplyDeleteUm Kilts are way sexy! One of my most popular blog posts is the one I did on men in kilts. I can't get enough.
ReplyDeleteI'm all for a man in a kilt.
ReplyDeleteI love men in kilts. Ewan McGregor.
ReplyDeleteyes, Gerard Butler
ReplyDeleteLove men in kilts! EWan McGregor definitely!
ReplyDeleteThese are some real great Scottie hotties. Gerard Butler looks great in a kilt, but he'd look even better *out* of one! ;) As for Ewan McGregor, have you ever seen him in a nude scene? Let's just say he needs a loooong kilt. But who can turn away a young Sean Connery? Plenty of material there for nocturnal daydreams, I must say. Last week I attended a Scottish Festival in Ft. Lauderdale. All men look great in kilts. We have to start a kilt revolution!
ReplyDeleteLOL...a loooong kilt :) I don't even mind the older Sean Connery in a kilt. He still wears it well :)
DeleteDefinitely YES, to a man in a kilt. Followed quickly by a strong breeze! LOL
ReplyDeleteGerard Butler.

DeleteI've got several men in kilts on my FB page. LOVE them and can't get enough.
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah, love a guy in a kilt. I'll go with Gerard Butler.
ReplyDeleteLOL at Marcy Shuler's comment.
ReplyDeleteGuys in kilts? hmmmm...I suppose...not really my thing though.
Every guy looks better in a kilt. I have one of Jason Momoa over on one of my Pinterest boards. But I'll have to agree Gerard and Ewan look damn fine!
ReplyDeleteGuy's in kilts are hotter than hot. Show me the "Kilts".
ReplyDeleteNo kilts for me although the accent is hot.
ReplyDeleteOh, the accent...la
DeleteI'm not a fan of guys in kilts, but I don't mind when they're written about.
ReplyDeleteI love to see a man in a kilt.
ReplyDeleteGuys in kilts? Nay. Warriors in kilts? YAY! Lol
