Day 7: Lady Eve's Indescretion by Grace Burrowes

Welcome to day seven of March SWEET Madness—a month long party to celebrate the upcoming release of my novel, SWEET MADNESS, available April 2, 2013.

Are you feeling lucky today? Well you should, as our featured author on day 7 of our event is the very talented Grace Burrowes, one of 7 children mind you… So to complete our triple 777, I’m giving away Grace’s 7th book, Lady Eve’s Indescretion, a RT Book Reviews Top Pick and an Amazon Editor's Best Romance of the Month!

Here is what the book is about:

To gain leverage in his efforts to get custody of his niece, Lucas Denning, newly minted Marquis of Deene, needs an heir, a fat marriage settlement, and a wife of impressive social standing.

Lady Eve Windham‘s bad judgment where men are concerned cost her virtue, her confidence, and—because it also involved a nasty fall from her horse—her love for horses.

In a weak moment, Eve is compromised into marriage with the handsome Lord Deene, who asks her to get back on the horse and stake everything on one glorious ride.

And now for the fun part—your chance to win! Just fill out the rafflecopter form below. Contest will be open for 2 weeks—US & CANADA only, please).

Sweet Enemy

Beakers and ball gowns don't mix, so when lady chemist, Miss Liliana Claremont, goes undercover as a husband-hunter to investigate Lord Geoffrey Wentworth, the earl whose family she suspects murdered her father, romance isn't part of her formula. But it only takes one kiss to start a reaction she can't control...

Sweet Deception

Lady criminologist, Miss Emma Wallingford, unknowingly finds herself tangled up in the dangerous final mission of Lord Derick Aveline, a spy who also happens to be her long-lost first love. But when deception, however sweet, is the name of the game, no one can be trusted. And every love--and every life--is at risk.

And don’t forget SWEET MADNESS, coming April 2, 2013!

There’s a fine line between love and insanity…

Ever since her husband’s sudden and tragic death, Lady Penelope Bridgeman has committed herself to studying the maladies of the mind, particularly treating traumatized soldiers of the Napoleonic Wars. It is this expertise that brings the Marquess of Bromwich’s family to her door.

Gabriel Devereaux’s unexpected and unpredictable episodes are unlike any Penelope has studied. The once proud soldier has been left shaken and withdrawn, but she manages to build a fragile trust between them. Strangely, Gabriel seems completely lucid when not in the grips of his mania, and in the calm between bouts, she is surprised by how much she is drawn to him.

Despite his own growing feelings, Gabriel knows that he is fit for no one, and is determined to keep Penelope away from his descent into madness. But even though she knows firsthand the folly of loving a broken man, Penelope cannot stop herself from trying to save him, no matter the cost.

  1. I've never really been around horses, so no not a horse lover. But I do love cats, and dogs come it a close second. And one of my friends seems to think I have a butterfly obsession because I tend to buy prints/jewellery/stuff with patterns that have butterflys in them.

    1. JessS, seems my daughter had at least one of everything at some point--but no butterflies! Thanks for stopping by.

    2. Butterflies are such beautiful creatures :)

  2. I think horses are beautiful animals, but I haven't had any interaction with them. I love reading, it's my favorite thing to do in my downtime.

    1. As a kid, I read every horse book I could get my hands on, starting with the black stallion... so blame my love of horses on the books?

    2. I was never into horses, either...more for lack of opportunity, I think. So noble, though, aren't they?

  3. Heather please don't enter my name for Grace's book, I already read her beautiful story.
    I love cats!

    1. Hi, Nicole! My heroes tend to be the ones with cats. Might have to give one a cat who rides around on his shoulders... or no, that's been done, hasn't it?

    2. I've yet to put an pet in one of my books...I may have to rectify that! Two of my three heroes were cavalry men, though, so definitely have written horses :)

  4. I like horses only from a distance. I went horseback riding once and it wasn't a pleasant experience. My passion is reading and watching TV dramas. Netflix and Amazon TV Passes are my favorite channels!

I've never read Grace's work but she's on my radar now! Thanks for the giveaway.

    1. Karen, there's nothing QUITE like feeling saddle sore. If you ride regularly, that problem fades.

    1. I owned a Belgian draft horse for a while... all the best qualities of a horse and a puppy (but lordy, cleaning up after that guy...)

    2. My boys are lobbying hard for a puppy, but I'm holding out as long as I can! Not that I don't love dogs, but I don't need something else to take care of right now...I'm outnumbered as it is!!! At least the cat is fairly self-sufficient :)

  6. No to horses. My great loves are books and the beach.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Sheila, I'm good with the books, but my parents live on the beach. NOT my scene, though the sunsets can be pretty.

    2. I like the beach as much as the next girl, but the sand in every crevice? Not so much a fan of... ;)

    1. So maybe you're among those whose quality of life is enhanced by an e-reader? I'm not.... yet.

      Delete
    2. Reading is quite quite fabulous! I have made the shift to an e-reader...sort of. I still buy pretty broadly across both formats. I still like a good old paperback from time to time, especially in the bath

      Delete
    3. No, I'm not I of those who uses an e-reader. I love having the real paperback book in my hand, though an e-reader would solve my over crowded shelf problem. I do have an e-reader app on the laptop and I if that book in my e-reader comes also in print, I buy them in print too. I know, I'm crazy. :)

  9. Question 1: My great love is...BOOKS! Haha. I also collect chess sets (interesting themed ones...not just regular black & white sets).

Question 2: I used to love to ride, but I was only a kid. I didn't really know anything about the horses I rode and I still don't, unfortunately. I think they are beautiful creatures, though.

    1. Horses seem to cut kids a break, or maybe they know the person on their backs is having a good time, and not on a control trip. Maybe horses think kids are beautiful.

    2. Chess sets? How lovely! When I was in mexico, I bought my husband one carved of jade...SO beautiful

    1. I'm not around horses as much now as I used to be Erin, and that intimating thing makes more sense to me now. They can hurt you without meaning too, and there you are, alone, injured, in the barn, with a half ton of apologetic horse who cannot dial 911 for you.

  21. My great love is my family. On a more superficial basis, though, I love books, Scotland, cats, butterflies, and dark chocolate.
I went through a horse phase when I was a teenager, but I'm not a big lover of them. Cats are my favorite animals.

  22. I do like horses. :) I had riding lessons as a little girl.. and more recently, I worked as a vet's assistant - he worked for a race track & farms. 99% of his work was done on horses. Man, horses can move faster than you can blink. *recalls scenarios of narrowly dodging a hoof - or not being able to dodge as the case may be*

  23. I've always loved horses and dogs, really most animals, but the ones I love the most are my family.

  24. I hate to sound predictable, but my great love is books. If I have to pick something living, I'll go with cats - I'm definitely a cat person.

  25. My greatest love is definitely books and reading. I can't imaging going an entire day without reading something!! I don't get it when people say they don't read at all. I love it!

I'm actually quite terrified of horses. They're too big, lol. I really like owls, though. I like what they represent. I have a tattoo of an owl on my forearm and random knick knacks all over the place.

  26. M great love is dancing. Though I'd have to say it's probably tied with books :) And I love dogs, though horses are great, too. I wish I could ride!

  27. I'm an animal lover. But I have a soft spot for cats. They have this way of charming people in a very natural way. Have a cat who sleeps beside me. :D

  33. My greatest love is seeing the happy smiling faces of my grandchildren enjoying the freedom of playing outside in the sunshine!
