Here is what the book is about:

The dazzling wedding fashions of A Lady’s Favor dress shop are guaranteed to make any girl the talk of the ton. But the brides aren’t the only ones falling in love…

With her parents murdered and her inheritance stolen, all Penny Shoemaker has left is her job working for A Lady’s Favor dress shoppe. But that’s not enough for her to support herself or her young brother. Her only chance to regain what is rightfully hers rests with a peculiar but brilliant gentleman with a weakness for damsels in distress.

Samuel Morrison is a dispossessed younger son searching for his place in the world, though the one thing he is good at is solving mysteries. So when Penny’s predicament lands at his feet, he decides to spend his time helping her out. But she fills more than his time—she fills his heart. And all he has to do now is solve the mystery, win the girl, and create a life not only for himself, but for her as well…

Sweet Enemy

Beakers and ball gowns don't mix, so when lady chemist, Miss Liliana Claremont, goes undercover as a husband-hunter to investigate Lord Geoffrey Wentworth, the earl whose family she suspects murdered her father, romance isn't part of her formula. But it only takes one kiss to start a reaction she can't control...

Sweet Deception

Lady criminologist, Miss Emma Wallingford, unknowingly finds herself tangled up in the dangerous final mission of Lord Derick Aveline, a spy who also happens to be her long-lost first love. But when deception, however sweet, is the name of the game, no one can be trusted. And every love--and every life--is at risk.

And don’t forget SWEET MADNESS, coming April 2, 2013!

There’s a fine line between love and insanity…

Ever since her husband’s sudden and tragic death, Lady Penelope Bridgeman has committed herself to studying the maladies of the mind, particularly treating traumatized soldiers of the Napoleonic Wars. It is this expertise that brings the Marquess of Bromwich’s family to her door.

Gabriel Devereaux’s unexpected and unpredictable episodes are unlike any Penelope has studied. The once proud soldier has been left shaken and withdrawn, but she manages to build a fragile trust between them. Strangely, Gabriel seems completely lucid when not in the grips of his mania, and in the calm between bouts, she is surprised by how much she is drawn to him.

Despite his own growing feelings, Gabriel knows that he is fit for no one, and is determined to keep Penelope away from his descent into madness. But even though she knows firsthand the folly of loving a broken man, Penelope cannot stop herself from trying to save him, no matter the cost.

  1. Okay for starters I'm not entirely sure I want a wedding, it all seems so archaic and constricting. But if I did it'd definitely be small, I don't think I could deal with too many people, not to mention the time and money it'd take to organise.

    1. If I had it to do over again, I'd do small and sweet. I was exhausted by the time the wedding was over!

  2. Hi heather I want a small but romantic wedding attended only by close friends and families ;). Aretha zhen

  3. Hi Heather, since ti was a second wedding for me, I wore a simple dress and it was a family group!

  4. My wedding dress was a simple style with flowered lace edging along the V neckline and at the base of the long sleeves. It had a long train with the lace edging along the bottom. I wore flowers in my hair and carried a beautiful white bouquet. If I had it to do over I would choose a bright colorful bouquet.

    1. Your dress sounds lovely! I had a full bouquet...I think next time I would do something simple, like lilies :)

  5. I've been married twice. The first time I wore a street length 2-pc lace over linen dress, pill box hat with lace trimmed shoulder length veil. It was a small wedding with an outdoor reception at my parent's home. For my 2nd wedding I made a floor length dress in pale blue with tiny floral print and wore a wide brimmed white straw hat. I added some of the dress fabric around the crown of the hat with a bow and streamers down the back. Again a small wedding reception of just family. Both were summer weddings.

    1. I adore hats at weddings! I bet both were lovely :) Mine was a late spring wedding, but it was so HOT that day! And, the AC made a horrible noise at the church so they had to turn it off for the ceremony so people could hear the vows. I was sweltering!

  6. My wedding dress was a beautiful yet simple lace over satin full length gown with a small train, with long sleeves, with a beautiful hat and veil.

  7. My wedding dress was VERY hard to find because I am petit and all wedding dresses seem VERY big and fluffy. Had to get it altered a LOT. It was strapeless and small since I am petit...

I had a big wedding because that's what my inlaws wanted... I would have prefer a small one.

    1. I had the opposite problem, May...I'm not so petite ;) However, I was lucky enough to find something that fit first try.

  8. I eloped so my wedding "dress" was a Billabong t-shirt and Aeropastle jeans. I wouldn't change it for the world.

  9. My wedding dress was empire line, short sleeved, and fairly light weight for my summer wedding. I was married in church with family and friends. Later we had a very informal reception at my brother's house with about 150 people. I was intimate, relaxed and very nice.

  10. My wedding dress was used my daughter who used it for a Halloween costume (years ago when she was 13 yrs old).

    1. Perfect! Mine was torn pretty badly by someone stepping on it at the reception, but I wasn't overly attached to it, so didn't bother to fix it, thinking I would put it to similar use. Alas, I only have boys...

  11. My "wedding" had three people there. My husband, me, and the minister. Both of us in jeans. The way liked it.

    1. I did the same thing, erin...Hubby and I were paying for everything ourselves, so I quickly decided I didn't need an overly expensive dress. Bought a used dress out of the paper...not something I woudl have chosen, maybe, but it was pretty, inexpensive and got the job done :)

  16. We had a fairly small wedding at my hubby's family church as my parents had both died the year before. My sister and her MIL helped me make my dress. It had fabric roses on the sleeves which went with the fabric roses on my attendant's dresses. We had an informal outdoors reception that was a lot of fun. Good memories.

  18. I'm very anti-social, so I would like a small wedding. I remember I was so happy when I turned 15 and I didn't get a Quinceñera but then my godmother wanted to celebrate it anyway so she made a big party. That was one of the worst days of my life lol

  19. Hmm.. lol.. I'm not entirely sure I foresee myself getting married, but if I do, it'd be a small wedding :)

  20. It was simple Aline with brocade on top and round neck

  21. I had a small wedding at Disneyland. It was magical. =)

  22. I have been married three times and all of them were small weddings. The third time was with the only good (great) man.

  23. Well, I eloped 23 years ago in January. $75 bucks for license, tip for the judge, gas for the cars and lunch. Wow things were cheaper back then LOL
I wore jeans, a purple sweater and keds. *grin* Was a spur of the moment, oh look, I'm legal and we're already living together kind of moment ;)
The kind Judge (whose lunch we interrupted) looked at me.. looked at the spousal unit.. asked me in a very serious tone.. "Young lady. Are you Sure you want to marry this young man?" I replied, "Yes sir." He turned, signed the paper and said "Alright, you're married."
    Was a lovely ceremony?? LOL

  24. I have big family so probably have to do a big wedding :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. I have a huge family and so does my boyfriend but I'm a very shy person! I don't like big huge events but I can't not include some of my family. I guess I'll just have to put up with a big wedding...but a very short one.

I want my dress to be really ethereal. I'm not big on mermaids or ballgowns. I want something that flows and gives me a nice shape. I'd like to look taller, too. :)

  26. Well, I'm glad to "meet" the FUNNIEST lady in romance writing, as Heather described you, Jade. I love a good sense of humor (real life can be way too serious!) with my romance. HEA endings with humor are a terrific combo...especially when it concerns a wedding (so much family "stuff" and stress comes out of the woodwork!).

  27. I would love an elegant wedding dress. Not too puffy and not too plain. White ivory would be nice. I don't thank I would want a hug wedding. Not found of gathering with lots of people besides the Romance Book/Readers Conventions, still need to attend one. But yes, small wedding indeed (Not willing to clean up afterwards)

  28. I'm not married, but my dream wedding dress is covered in crystals at the top and then they fade away as they more towards the skirt, which is kind of loose and flowy. This does not sound as great as it looks in my head, trust me, it's super gorgeous. Also, I'd probably go for a big wedding because I have a big family :)

  29. I don't want a wedding...I'm already married. Did the whole big thing the first time around, which ended after two kids and 12 years. But my second one, though small, was beautiful and a "keeper." Married 33 years now. My hubby is my hero!

  30. Wow, I so want to be wed someday like everyone else. ^_^

  31. My wedding dress, which was made by my mother, was a fairly simple empire-style dress with a lace-covered bodice.
I had a fairly small wedding with mostly family and close friends. I wouldn't have wanted a big one; I was terrified enough, as it was!

  32. I had a pretty small church wedding. I didn't want to have the wedding of the century, but I did want to elope. HA

  33. I found my wedding dress at a bridal shop. It was perfect and it only cost me $300.00. It was a pearl colr and strapless with a small train and crystals and pearls under the bustline. I love that dress.

  34. one that looks nice and is comfortable

  35. I had a simple short white dress when I got married in the late 60's. If I were to marry now, I'd want something simple and understated, and not necessarily white since it wouldn't be a first marriage. I always go for the sleek, elegant dress, not the frilly, frothy concoctions.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I like wedding dresses to be simple but with a bit of sparkle - and they should be comfortable!

    ReplyDelete
  37. My husband and I were married over 39 years ago with only family and friends present. My wedding dress was made by my mother and my husband's mother. It was a short lace over satin, long train, a full length veil, and long sleeves. It was absolutely beautiful!

  38. When I was in Junior High school my Mom opened a Bridal shop and I always thought that just like my two older sisters she would take me to New York to all the Bridal designers to pick out my wedding gown. I never thought that being the youngest in my family that my parents would retire and move before I got married!

I moved across the country to go to college and there was no "home" to go back to so I moved close to where not only my parents now lived but to the town where I'd meet my husband.

My Mom did go with me to help me pick out my gown but unlike my sisters it wasn't to New York but to a local bridal shop having a sale. Needless to say when I went to the "sale rack" my Mom wasn't happy!

I ended up buying my beautiful gown with a chapel length train for just $125.00 and it only needed a few small adjustments to fit perfectly!

One of my favorite pictures is the one of my Dad walking me down the aisle of the church and as a sign to my husband the clock over our heads shows that I was 15 minutes late getting to the church!

My husband still always laughs even now that we've been married for 43 years when he looks at that picture and he reminds me the last thing he told me the night before our wedding was "I don't care if you're late just be sure you show up"!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Not married but I'd just take a white dress, not too fancy, and get married in Las Vegas. Something simple!

    ReplyDelete
  40. My wedding dress was Cinderella style, fluffy very fluffy, skirt made out of tulle and sparkly :D so was the top...it was perfect

  41. I saw a beautiful one once-- off white with pink flowers. It was stunning. I went back to take a picture, and it was gone. Someone ended up with one beautiful wedding dress! :-)
