Pocahontas by...The best biography I've read is
Pocahontas by Grace Steele Woodward. Pocahontas was a Native American Princess, ambassador, and peacemaker to the first American settlers.

The reason a biography about Pocahontas is that I'm related to her through John Rolfe. To me it was a romance because she saved the life of Capt. John Smith, who had been captured by Powhatan's warriors and was to be clubbed to death. The salvation of John Smith was the salvation of Jamestown colony.

John Rolfe, a gentleman at Jamestown, fell in love with her and they were married in Jamestown in June 1614 in the Anglican church. Both Native Americans and Englishmen apparently considered this a bond between them, and it brought 8 years of peaceful relations in Virginia.

For anyone who is a history buff they have discovered and are doing an excavation now in Virginia of what they believe is the site of the original settlement there of the English including John Rolfe and it's not to be missed seeing the history of the past come to life once more!
Jeanne Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05111451097520221555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5814758351100880150.post-12353420813007913462013-03-11T21:32:02.396-05:002013-03-11T21:32:02.396-05:00I would like to read about Liz Taylor.
